Ever since new state laws in 2023 made it easier to add an ADU (accessory dwelling unit), more homeowners are taking advantage of the opportunity to expand their properties, improve their lives, and improve the lives of others. "The Well-Designed ADU" showcases 15 exceptional ADUs, from home offices to multigenerational compounds, including one by architect Adam Mayberry, who has designed over 200 ADUs for clients in the Bay Area.

Mayberry will provide guidance and tips for building an ADU in a Q&A with book author Lydia Lee at Books Inc. in Palo Alto on October 29. Lee is a Menlo Park-based journalist who focuses on architecture and sustainability.
